The Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the county's Traffic Safety Team have announced a countywide DUI patrol operation for the Fourth of July weekend.

According to law enforcement officials, the Fourth of July weekend is one of the top partying times of the year. That’s why law enforcement in Orange County will be cracking down on those driving under the influence.
Checkpoints will be set up through the county beginning Friday, July 1 through Monday, July 4.
The DUI patrol operation will involve dozens of local law enforcement agencies, including members of the Orlando Police Department, Winter Park Police Department, University of Central Florida Police Department and Maitland Police Department.
Each agency will determine the dates and times for their individual efforts, according to the news release.
Officials say the goal of the operation is to educate drivers and to remove suspected DUI violators from the roadways.
