The wife of Tavares Mayor Robert Wolfe was arrested Saturday morning on multiple charges after she allegedly hit her sister over the head with an oscillating fan, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Sharon Wolfe, 45, was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment and obstruction of 911.
The incident happened Friday night at a home on Lakeshore Boulevard.
Lake County said Wolfe got into an argument with her twin sister Shawn. Her sister told investigators as she began collecting her things to leave, Wolfe hit her over the head with an oscillating fan.
Wolfe’s sister tried multiple times to leave, but Wolfe hit her in the head again, this time with a fraternity paddle, according to the incident report.
Deputies say Wolfe’s sister had a red mark underneath her left ear and discoloration on the right side of her neck.
Wolfe also held her sister against her will by threatening her and also threw her cellphone into the pool, deputies said.
Wolfe was arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail. She was later released.
Wolfe’s husband Robert has been mayor of Tavares since 2009.
