Area geeks dressed up and lined up to get a glimpse inside the first real store for ThinkGeek Thursday in Orlando.
ThinkGeek, an online retailer for all things nerdy, chose Florida Mall for its very first concept store.
The shop cut the ribbon on its first store Thursday night, which is located near JC Penney.
ThinkGeek was recently acquired by video game company GameStop, which wants to move forward with a chain of stores.
“While people know us today as an online retailer, the GameStop connection will bring vastly more visibility to the brand and our ever expanding selection of exclusive products,” said ThinkGeek president Katy McCarthy in a news release.
The store will focus on geek-inspired products from popular pop culture franchises like Star Wars, Game of Thrones, Nintendo and Minecraft. ThinkGeek not only sells products already available at other stores, it creates unique items based on those franchises.
