Starting Sunday, Votran users will have to pay more to ride Volusia County's mass transit system. Votran is increasing all fares to help offset what the agency says are higher operating costs.
This is the first time the agency has increased fares since 2007.
One way fares will go up by a quarter to a $1.50 and a daily pass will be $3.50, an increase of 50 cents.
A Votran spokesman said the increased fares come at a time when ridership is up with about 4 million riders boarding buses from 2012 to 2013.
