We reflect and celebrate the work and achievements of the African-American Community, we discuss the status of race relations in Florida. We will explore our evolving world with discussions of growth and change. In addition, we examine a study that looks at media portrayals of African-Americans in comedy/sitcoms and how those portrayals are associated with racist views and attitudes. We will also explore research related to racism focused on music-based portrayals of substance use and how it impacted consumers based on race.
