Motorists should expect to see crews back at work sites along Interstate 4, including Orange Blossom Trail, Anderson and Michigan street near downtown Orlando, and State Road 436 in Altamonte Springs.
SGL Construction, the contractor for the I-4 Ultimate project, confirmed that construction resumed at 7 a.m. Monday along the 21-mile project.
Work was halted last Monday, when a 59-year-old worker was killed after he was struck in the head by a 20-foot pipe at the work site at Wymore Road on Winter Park.
His name has not been released.
SGL said it wanted to conduct a review of safety procedures.
"A thorough review and evaluation of our safety protocols has been completed," the company said in a written statement.
By last count, this is the fourth death in the long-term I-4 project, which is expected to be finished in 2021.
"Everyone has to be careful with whatever they do," motorist John Ioannidis said.
