The woman paralyzed after being hit by a Buffalo police vehicle six months ago is being discharged from the hospital.
The incident happened on April 15 when Chelsea Ellis was walking near Main Street and Benwood Avenue. A BPD SUV hit another car and collided with two people, one of whom was Ellis.
She suffered several critical injuries including one to her spinal cord.
Since then, she has been in a Colorado Hospital recovering from the incident that left her in a quadriplegic state.
She is flying back to Buffalo Wednesday so she can get set up in her new patio home in Alden some time tomorrow. Family and friends are thanking everyone for their support, donations, and prayers.
They're asking for another set of prayers for Ellis to have a smooth transition back home. To support her GoFundMe, click here.
