  • 813 DAY KICKOFF | Tampa Mayor Jane Castor is kicking off the 813 celebration tomorrow in advance of Tuesday. To benefit the The Tampa Bay History Center, Sparkman Wharf will donate $5 for every photo taken in front of the decorated Sparkman Wharf TAMPA sign and posted on social media from Aug. 9-18.

Mt. Vernon Elementary sends new teachers on shopping spree

Mt. Vernon Elementary Principal Nikishia Dixon said it is through community partnerships with private companies such as Office Depot that the Pinellas County school can supplement the student experience and help teachers with adequate resources.

For the past couple of weeks, teachers and administrators have been getting ready for the big Back to School Day on Monday.
