- The CDC said COVID-19 should be killed in properly chlorinated pool
According to the latest CDC information, a properly chlorinated and filtered swimming pool will kill the virus.
In the Villages, several community pools have opened, with a limited number of swimmers allowed.
Residents have mixed feelings about the openings.
“From what we've heard from CDC and others, COVID can't live in the pool so I don't have a problem,” said Donna Daigle.
Mike Booth and his wife are adding a pool to their home and feel more safe swimming in their own pool,
“There's a lot of different people in there. You don't know where they've been. You don't know what they've come in contact with,” Booth said.
The Villages have begun opening the pools in phases. According to officials, more restrictions will be lifted by the end of this month.
