HENRIETTA, N.Y. — RG&E finished a decade-long project to upgrade electric transmission throughout the Rochester area.
It celebrated the Rochester Area Reliability Project's completion with a tour of its new substation in Henrietta.
Substation 255 was a part of the nearly $400,000 project, along with upgrades to lines in Rochester, Gates, Chili, and Henrietta.
The company's CEO says the project will be important as Rochester heads into the future.
"We're talking about electrifying, we're talking about electric vehicles," said Carl Taylor. "We're talking about more things being connected to the network. Well, this is really the backbone that's going to help make sure we can provide that essential component."
