Hundreds of volunteers at Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira spent the last few days laying down wreaths.
Because of the big snow storm this week and pandemic restrictions, they had less than 2 days to get the job done.
They raised enough money to lay 3,000 wreaths on veterans' graves. It’s all part of the Wreaths Across America program.
"I do it. Like most veterans, I’m a Vietnam Veteran and I do it for these young men and ladies that are buried here,” said volunteer Larry Sherman. “It’s a tribute to their service, it’s a Christmas present from the whole nation."
Their goal for next year is to lay down 8,000 wreaths.
