WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- Legoland Florida has announced the opening date for its upcoming expansion, The Lego Movie World.

The new area will debut March 27 and feature three new rides inspired by the The Lego Movie.

On The Lego Movie Masters of Flight, riders will hop aboard Emmet's Triple Decker Couch and fly through a world made out of Lego bricks. Unikitty's Disco Drop, a drop ride, will take riders to the top of Cloud Cuckoo Land before dropping them back down to earth. And at the Battle of Bricksburg water ride, riders will use water cannons to stop the Duplo aliens from stealing Lego bricks.

Visitors will also get to visit a recreated version of Bricksburg, where they will find some of their favorite characters. The new area will also feature a restaurant called the Taco Everyday eatery, a gift shop called the Awesome Shop, and a space-themed playground. 

"The Lego Movie World is our largest addition to date and will provide guests around the world with the ultimate movie-to-theme park experience," said Keith Carr, project director of Merlin Magic Making, in a statement. 

The theming carries over to the Legoland Hotel, which will feature Lego Movie-themed rooms.
