ORLANDO, Fla. — Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy, an upcoming "Cars"-inspired attraction, will open at Disney's Hollywood Studios on March 31, Disney World announced Thursday.

As part of the show's theme, visitors will be welcomed as part of a group of rookie racers, learning the rules of the road from the racing legend himself. "This will be the untold story of Lightning McQueen — as told by Lightning McQueen," according to a post on the Disney Parks Blog.

Disney previously announced that Lightning McQueen's Racing Academy would be located inside Sunset Showcase near Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Sunset Showcase is a backstage building that had been used as an event space.

The attraction is just one of many scheduled to open at Hollywood Studios this year. Also on tap are a new nighttime show called Wonderful World of Animation, Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway at the former site of The Great Movie Ride, and a 14-acre themed land called Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
