Reagan Ryan is a multimedia journalist at Spectrum News 13 covering the environment and climate across Central Florida. She’s also a 2023-2024 Corps Member for Report for America, a nonprofit organization focused on strengthening communities through local journalism.

Having grown up in Daytona Beach, Reagan’s initial interest in reporting came about through watching local news stations cover hurricanes and storms. Now, she's excited to be reporting on the environment in her hometown and beyond.

Reagan earned her master's degree in investigative journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. During her time there, she was inducted into the journalism honor society Kappa Tau Alpha. She's also a proud alumna of Florida State University, where she earned her undergraduate degree in editing, writing, and media.

Prior to joining the News 13 team, Reagan covered public housing as a reporter at the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism and policing as a data and documentary journalist for the Carnegie-Knight News21 collegiate reporting initiative. She's also worked as a news producer for WTXL ABC 27 in Tallahassee, Florida, where she covered the 2020 election and hurricane season.

In her free time, Reagan loves taking advantage of everything her coastal community has to offer – that includes getting ice cream at the Dairy Bar, walking her dogs at Riverwalk Park, enjoying local restaurants like Sushi 99 and Millie's, and paddle boarding in the Halifax River.
