Born and raised in Southern California, Yvette recalls a childhood centered around athletics. Her dad was a phenomenal baseball player, and when she wasn't watching him or her brothers playing, she was training at her mom’s old dance studio, following in her footsteps as a ballerina. As a first generation American who is proud of her Cuban heritage, Yvette is passionate about connecting with the Hispanic community and being a voice for those who don’t have one.

When she tried playing softball, Yvette realized that maybe she was better at talking about sports than she was at playing them. Not only did discussing sports help her build a stronger bond with her family; it was also a way to share the stories of extraordinary people. In high school, Yvette realized that she could fuse her passion of storytelling and sports together.

After spending some time at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California, her mentor and professor encouraged her to pursue her degree at Arizona State University at The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication where she would earn her Bachelor of Arts in Sports Journalism. During her time at both schools, Yvette interned at KTLA and KCAL 9, and showcased her work on Fox Sports West and PAC12 Network. She even got to cover the Dodgers!

After college, Yvette’s first job took her to Huntsville, Alabama where she worked as a part of the news team at WHNT-TV and would help the sports team when she could. But she couldn't stay away from the palms, so when offered a multimedia journalist job in Fort Myers, Florida, she jumped at the opportunity. In April of 2023, her passion for sports led her to Orlando, where she now works on the Spectrum Sports 360 team and gets to tell the stories of Central Florida’s talented athletes.

Yvette likes to stay as active as possible; when she's not working you can find her at the gym, trying a dance class, exploring the city, or attending any sporting event. If she's not there, she's most likely with friends and family or hanging out with her dog Bear. Staying true to her roots, Yvette says she “Bleeds Blue” and is a diehard Dodgers fan.
