Tobin has honed her unique teaching style to help shape young minds so students realize what they're learning in class can take them well beyond the school house.  She says she could teach math forever.

She laughs when she adds, "I love education. I love teaching math in general. I really, really aspire to make students appreciate math more."

She does that by making her math lessons relatable. Tobin says, "Let them know that math is important, even if they don't think it is. Even if it comes to their finances — like everybody assumes they're going to be rich and somebody else is going to take care of their finances so I try to get them to understand that — that's stuff they need to know as well."

We asked Tobin why she chose teaching as a profession.

She says, "So, education is kind of what all of my family does.  We all work in education. But, we all want to help children in any way possible."
