FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Two people were killed after a small plane crashed into a warehouse in Fort Lauderdale, sparking a fire.

The crash happened Saturday afternoon near the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.
The two people killed were the pilot and a passenger of a Cessna 335.
Heavy flames were coming from the building shortly after the crash, but firefighters were able to bring them under control
The plane crashed into a building that contained a therapy center for children with autism. Eight teachers and five children were inside the building at the time of the crash, according to authorities.
One of the teachers was injured as she led the children from the building. None of the children were injured.
