LOS ANGELES — Since the Palisades Fire, Tom Doran and his family have been spending their days searching the area of Westchester for their next temporary home until they can return to their community.

Annie Hartley, a real estate agent, notes that the resettlement of many families in cities such as Manhattan Beach is increasing demand for homes, leading to higher costs.
