A free kick from Viera's Jordan Walsh led to an own goal by Niceville that was the winning margin for the Hawks in a 2-1 victory in the 4A Championship game.

Viera's attack put Niceville on their heels through the opening minutes of the game, eventually leading to a goal from Sarah Kelliher in the 17th minute, her 10th of the season, off an assist from Hollyn Knight.

Niceville tied the game in the 32nd minute as Kayla Fernandez blasted one past goalkeeper Sydney Lau off of a corner kick from her twin sister Liliana. The Eagles put Lau to the test in second half, but the sophomore came through with several big saves to keep the game tied before the final tally from the Hawks.

Brevard County wins a girls soccer state championship for the fourth straight year, the longest streak in county history, with Viera (22-1-1) notching back-to-back-titles after Melbourne went back-to-back in 2013 and 2014. Niceville (21-1-0) was looking for the Panhandle's first state championship since 2001, but instead sees their perfect season end in the 4A Championship.
