It’s not the easiest name to say, although the nickname is familiar to anyone. But Youlormans Hilaire - Youlo for short (pronounced YOLO) - has made his name an important one for Olympia soccer.

“It’s a great name, hey I’ll take it all day as long as he keeps scoring, I’ll keep calling him Youlo,” joked Head Soccer Coach Lou Romao.

Coach Romao has coached Youlo for the past two seasons, and has seen a marked improvement in the seniors play. “The good thing about Youlo is he is a very humble kid, just like the rest of the team, and he knows just to work hard.”

“In the beginning I was not playing my best but every time I come out to practice I work hard. At home I am doing pushups, sit-ups, touches and everything, and then it keeps coming and everything falls into place,” explained Youlo.

In the district tournament, the hard work paid off. Youlo took the hat trick versus Ocoee, scored one goal against West Orange for a 1-0 win and two against previously unbeaten Evans.

“During the district we all basically came together, we wanted to work as a team to get the district and we did it. I was very proud of the team and very proud of the coach,” said Youlo.

19 goals on the season for Hilaire, and a chance for more as the Titans march forward in the playoffs.
