34 on Monday, 32 on Thursday, and 69 on Saturday. Just a typical 36 holes of golf for Circle Christian’s Eugene Hong.

"Well, it may sound crazy but we’re almost getting used to it," Circle Christian golf coach Scott Richardson said. "He’s averaging a little 34  per 9 holes, so all of that kind of fits in. But at the same time if you back up and compare it to his peers, it’s pretty spectacular what he’s doing."

Despite winning his matches during the week and tying for third on Saturday in a field loaded with talent Eugene says there’s room for improvement.

"I definitely had the possibility to do a little bit better because I still need to kind of improve my putting," Eugene reflected. "But I still feel good about my swing and everything went really good."

Only a sophomore, leading the pack out on the links is nothing new for Eugene. He made it to the semifinals of the US Junior Amateur back in July.
