Ten carries. 246 yards. And 4 touchdowns. All in a days work for Astronaut's Jay Hawkins.

"I was amazed, it was just like wow," Jay recalled. "Most touchdowns I’ve scored in a high school game, most yards I’ve rushed, it’s the best job my O-line did so far."

Astronaut head coach Randy Hallock had high praises for Hawkins. "He’s got tremendous vision, and an innate ability to make people miss. When he gets in the open field he’s awful hard to tackle and bring down, it’s hard to get a hold of him."

No one could get a hold of Jay in the War Eagles 46-13 Kickoff Classic win over Bayside last week. All 4 of his TD’s came in the first quarter. Those 12 minutes were so busy Jay can’t remember if the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th score was his favorite, but he does remember the play call.
