The top girls volleyball teams in Central Florida, as selected by the Bright House Sports Network staff:

1. Winter Springs (23-2) – Bears, ranked 10th in the country by MaxPreps, start the postseason as the prohibitive favorite to win the 8A state championship.

2. Bishop Moore (21-4) – Hornets took the first two sets from nationally ranked Gainesville P.K. Yonge but couldn’t finish off the match, losing in five.   

3. West Orange (22-3) – Warriors, the top seed in 8A, District 4, enter the playoffs on a nine game winning streak. 

4. Merritt Island (23-2) – Junior outside hitter Alyssa Zwolensky is closing in on 900 career kills.

5. Spruce Creek (24-0) – Perfect regular season for the Hawks included sweeps in 21 of their 24 matches.

6. First Academy (18-6) – Road to the state finals for the Royals will go through Gainesville P.K. Yonge, which hasn’t lost to a Florida team this season.  

7. Lake Mary (19-6) – Rams enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed behind Winter Springs in the 8A, District 2 tournament.

8. Lake Nona (19-5) – Lions are the area’s hottest teams with 16 consecutive victories.

9. Osceola (25-0) – Kowboys dispatched Harmony and St. Cloud to finish the regular season undefeated for the first time in program history.

10. Hagerty (18-7) – Huskies, who didn’t a drop a match in district play, are capable of making a deep playoff run in Class 7A.
