During the summer months, BHSN will be revisiting some of our best Athletes of the Week from the 2014-2015 school season and seasons past to catch up on what’s new.

Back in December 2013, we introduced you to B.J. Taylor, a senior point guard for Boone, who just scored 52 points in the Rotary Tip-Off Classic. At the time B.J. was signed to play college ball at UCF, he went on to have a stellar first year for the Knights, but wasn't fully satisfied.

"I think it went pretty well for myself, personally," said B.J. "I think there was a lot of team goals that we didn’t achieve last year, but you can’t look in the past, just got to look forward to the future now."

But let’s just look at the past for a little bit. B.J. led UCF and all freshman in the conference averaging 12.8 points per game last year. He scored a total of 334 points which are the most for a UCF freshman since the 95-96 season.

"It’s great to have the individual success, it’s great for those things to happen, it’s great to see your hard work pay off, but at the end of the day if you can’t lead your team to wins, and it doesn’t result in wins, I mean it doesn’t really matter."
