Two of Orlando’s winningest baseball coaches are calling it a day after 32 years each in the dugout. Coach Allen Tuttle at Lake Mary High School and Coach Bob King at Winter Park took over their respective programs in 1984, leaving now following the 2015 season.

“I think we played each other the first week both of us were coaches. Can’t remember who won but it was fun,” said Coach Tuttle.

32 years might have blurred together but the best memories, the people, remain crystal clear.

“I don’t know what my record is. I know we won enough games that no one can complain. We lose a lot, no one asks me how many did you lose – hundreds of games we lost. But it is not about the wins and losses. We are a high school and I am an educator, and this is not a job, it is not a career, it’s a vocation,” said Coach King.

King might gloss over the record a bit, but both coaches sit in the top 10 of all-time winningest baseball coaches in Central Florida. King finished the season at 597 wins, Coach Tuttle coming up with 603.
