You never would have known Cady Lalanne was headed for a future in the NBA when he entered Oak Ridge High School in 9th grade.

"Cady comes in to high school, no one knows him, I didn’t know him, no one knew him," says Cady's high school coach Matt Turner, "He was just kind of an ordinary kid that played basketball a couple years, he was a big kid, in fact he was in my class that I taught. He comes in the first day he’s real quiet, doesn’t say much."

Cady went from playing JV his freshman year to leading Oak Ridge to the State championship game his senior year. Then after four years at UMass on draft night his name was called with the 55th pick to the San Antonio Spurs. In 3 games with the Spurs in the Utah Summer League Cady averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds a game. A step in the right direction towards earning a regular season roster spot.

"To get a guy out there that doesn’t really care about scoring, will rebound and defend and block shots, I mean that really helps him out," says Turner. "If you were to ask me 6 months ago if he’d make the team I thought probably not, at this point I think he has a really good shot, about 80 percent chance in my opinion."
