On the last day before summer vacation, West Orange quarterback Woody Barrett made his decision, choosing Auburn over Alabama for the 2016 season.

Barrett made the announcement in front of family and friends, while wearing an Auburn hat and shirt. "Well, it’s obvious, but I am officially committed to Auburn University. War Damn Eagle," said the rising senior quarterback.

Barrett is ranked as the #6 dual threat quarterback in the country by 247sports.com. Last season he led the Warriors to an 11-2 record, throwing over 15,000 yards for 24 touchdowns. Those numbers – standing out to Auburn.

”They wanted me just to come in and be Woody B. Just have my same play style, read the options, don’t do nothing more than I can't do. Basically what I am doing now they want me to do, just harder, with a good work ethic and everything else," said Barrett.

”He is a runner and a passer. Being a dual threat quarterback, he can bring so much dimension to your offense and Auburn is kind of that type of mold. Cam Newton, Nick Marshall, that kind of player that has the ability to run like a running back and then throw the ball. He does that so well," said West Orange head football coach Bob Head.
