Heritage burst back onto the football scene and looked as if the 6A Region Finalist didn’t miss a beat.

The Panthers were led by quarterback Daeshawn Mills and his running back Josh Gaines—these two alone accounted for six touchdowns against Titusville in a 55-12 victory.

“At the start of the game I was anxious because I didn’t know how we were going to perform,” Mills said. “We had a new line, but they held out and it was just easy because they were much slower than us.”

Mills got the party started early-scoring from 26-yards out in the games second played, then tacked on two more before the end of the first and then started to get Josh Gaines involved.

“He actually told me he was going to pitch me the ball so I was looking for it and they couldn’t stop us,” said Gaines. “I saw that my team was playing hard so I had to match that intensity and play harder.”

Gaines himself had two touchdowns, 100-yards rushing and another 80-yards receiving and seven tackles in that spring game.
