During the summer months, BHSN will be revisiting some of our best Athletes of the Week from the 2014-2015 school season to catch up on what’s new.

Back in November, we introduced you to Josh Jacques, a junior cross country runner for Lyman, who just won the 4A State cross country individual title while simultaneously helping lead the Greyhounds to their first boys cross country team title in school history. At the time Jacques was busy soaking in the glorious moment with his teammates.

"In the end everyone was so happy, and that was so beautiful to see in the end," Josh said.

Josh continued his dominance of running on the state’s biggest stage by claiming gold in the 3200 meter run in class 4A at the state track and field meet. When asked which State title felt better, after some thought, Josh was able to decide.

"I have to say cross country because it’s the first time I ever won something so big, you know track could be like icing on the cake especially since it was the same year."

Josh dominated the 2 mile run in track winning by almost 12 seconds, a pretty impressive feat since he admits to liking cross country more.
