The team that stunned Olympia continues to make a postseason impression. The Titans defeated Timber Creek, 4-1, in the Class 8A state semifinals. The win advances Orange City University to the title game for the first time in school history.

The Titans will take on Miami Columbus for the 8A championship LIVE on BSHN Channel 47/HD 1147 Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Timber Creek actually took an early lead, thanks to back-to-back doubles by Arnie Ruiz and Cameron Meehan in the top of the first. Meehan's scored Ruiz for a 1-0 Wolves lead.

A pair of Timber Creek errors in the top of the fourth allowed University to take a 3-1 lead. With one out, a double by Julio Medina put runners on second and third. A Wolves fielding error scored Danny Acevedo to tie the game at 1-all. Then Scottie Seamens gave University a 2-1 lead with an RBI single.

University capitalized on another Timber Creek error to go up 3-1.

In the top of fifth, University tacked on another run when a balk allowed Antonio Vega, who reached base on a double, to score.

Defensively, the Titans got a strong outing from pitcher Logan Allen, who struck out four of the final nine batters he faced. Allen's final line - seven innings, eight hits, one earned run, eight strikeouts.

Timber Creek's Michael D'Emo also pitched a complete game - five hits, one earned run, three walks, four strikeouts.
