It took three hours and 11 innings, but finally a winner emerged in Friday night's Class 6A state baseball semifinal between Bartram Trail and Forest.

With two outs in the top of the 11th, Bartram Trail took advantage of a Forest error, scoring the winning run on a wild pitch.

The Bears won 2-1 and will play for the 6A title LIVE on BHSN Channel 47/HD 1147 Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Bartram got on the scoreboard early with John Cassala's RBI single in the top of the first. The Bears held onto that one-run lead until the bottom of the fifth when Forest finally responded.

The Wildcats' Jacob Landry tied the game at 1-all with a two-out RBI single. And it remained tied after seven sending the game into extra innings.

Bartram Trail had a great opportunity to regain the lead in the ninth, but Forest got out of a bases loaded jam. With one out, Tommy Scott replaced Kirby McMullen (8 1/3, 10 hits, 1 run, 6 strikeouts) on the mound and helped retired back-to-back batters to end the inning.

In the bottom of the 11th, down to their final three outs, Forest managed to get two runners on base, David Stromwall, who was hit by a pitch and Riley Ferrer reached on a walk. They He were left stranded at first and second.
