Junior pitcher Morgan White was the steadying hand for her softball team throughout the state finals tournament last week in Vero Beach.

First in the semifinals she sent 10 packing and watched on as her team mate Rachel Mazzurco hit a walk off homer.

As for the Championship game, it was made for primetime as the intensity elevated to a different level as Chamberlain tested Forests will to win.

“I have no words, it was just crazy,” White says of the 6A Title game. “I mean back and forth constant hitting-- we hit, then they hit. I mean no better game I’ve played in all season, just both teams going at it. What more could you ask for we obviously gave our fans their monies worth.”

After a 2-1 standstill through four innings of play—it was White’s homerun in the bottom of fifth with the bases loaded that gave the Wildcats the edge and momentum to fend off the Chiefs.

“My adrenaline was going, it’s all a blur it just happened so quickly I mean first pitch I just –I was swinging no matter what,” White said.

She closed out the game striking out seven and had a part in a thrilling infield double play in the bottom of the 7th to land Forest High into the history books.
