In a much anticipated pitching matchup, the two starters lived up to the hype needing extra innings for the Titans to get by the Warriors 3-2 at Heller Brothers Ballpark at West Orange High School.

An RBI single by Titans senior Kirk Sidwell helped Olympia to survive the scare and remain perfect on the season at 20-0.

Olympia starting pitcher and UCF signee Juan Hillman went 7 innings, striking out 7 and giving up two late runs. On the other side, West Orange junior Tyler Baum struck out a game high eleven batters while scattering 9 hits over 7 innings.

After a Jordan Morrow single and double by Francis Villaman, Olympia junior catcher Zach Mishriki singled, bringing home Morrow and Villaman.

Hillman cruised into the fifth until West Orange scored on an RBI single by junior catcher Matt Coello, plating Roberto Guillen.

Alex Dorso got the win in relief for Olympia pitching the final 2 2/3 innings and allowed no runs.

Warrior freshman Doug Nikhazy ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed one run.

West Orange falls to 14-8 on the season, but will have another chance at the Titans Friday afternoon when the two square off at Olympia High School.
