Winter Springs didn't provide Stephen Morgioni with much support, but he didn't need much. Morgioni pitched seven strong innings to carry Winter Springs to a 1-0 win over Lake Mary on the Bright House Sports Network Game of the Week Tuesday night at Sanford Memorial Stadium.

Winter Springs held Lake Mary without a run while Morgioni was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up two.

Lake Mary’s Brett Brubaker was charged with the loss. He lasted just two innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed one run.

Winter Springs scored its only run of the game on an RBI single by Jake Rolly in the third inning.

Stephen Morgioni was named the BHSN Player of the Game.

The Bears improve their record to 18-4 while the Rams drop to 14-9.

Lake Brantley’s Mathias Haywood went 3-for-3 with an RBI as the Patriots held off the Oviedo Lions 2-1 in the nightcap of the Bright House Sports Network Game of the Week doubleheader Tuesday night in Sanford .

Oviedo scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to make it 2-1 and were threatening to score more until the Patriots shut them down.

Lake Brantley wins the Seminole Athletic Conference tournament with the win and improves its record to 14-10 while the Lions fall to 18-5 on the season.

Patriots starting pitcher Jimmy Hartley got the win for Lake Brantley, allowing one run over seven innings, striking out four while only giving up six hits. Cooper Bradford took the loss for Oviedo.
