Once a Knight, always a Knight—that’s the case for Kahley Novak, Kirsten Foster, Courtney Rotton—as they are the only local UCF softball players on the team and all graduated from East Ridge High School in Lake County.

“My senior year in high school was awesome,” Novak said.

“I knew that Kirsten, one of the other girls was gonna come to UCF so that was super exciting and then eventually Courtney was gonna come so having almost like another in field with East Ridge it was just really cool to have them come along as well.”

The last time the three girls played all together was the 2010-11 high school season in which they led East Ridge to the Class 6A Region Final-the furthest the program’s ever been.

“The advantage with the Clermont girls we had Kahley’s dad as their coach for high school and Tommy did a fantastic job of getting those girls ready.” UCF Softball Coach Renee Luers-Gillispie said.

“He was a baseball player here at UCF so he has that background of UCF as an athlete and he understands what it takes to be an athlete. So he was able to get his kids ready to come in and you can see the results of all three of the girls are just fantastic college players.”
