Apopka starting pitcher Hunter Herr threw seven shutout innings to lead the Blue Darters to a 1-0 victory over the Dr. Phillips Panthers Friday night on the Bright House Sports Network Game of the Week.
Blue Darters shortstop Nick Barber's lead off home run in the bottom of the first inning was all that Apopka needed as they're defense was solid behind Herr the entire game.
Dr. Phillips senior Ryan Evans was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 4 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out eight, and allowed Barber's home run.
Hunter Herr was named Player of the Game as Apopka improves it's record to 13-3 while Dr. Phillips falls back to .500 at 7-7.
