Two weeks into the college baseball season, No. 22 UCF (7-0) picked up its second American Athletic Conference Player of the Week award as freshman second baseman/pitcher Kyle Marsh earned the honor on Monday.

Senior shortstop Dylan Moore received the accolade to kick off the 2015 season after he was 7-for-14 with nine RBI in the sweep of Siena. That week Marsh was on The American Honor Roll thanks to a 6-for-9 showing against the Saints.

A native of Port Orange, Fla., Marsh followed that up with a .385 average with eight RBI on five hits including a double and a home run to take down Bethune-Cookman, No. 15 Arkansas, No. 11 Maryland and South Alabama. He also made two appearances in relief, not allowing a run in 1.2 innings.

To get week two underway, UCF hosted Bethune-Cookman Feb. 18 and proceeded to go 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs scored, pounding out a homer while walking twice. He also stepped onto the hill and struck out one in an inning of work, with the Black and Gold delivering a 10-2 win.

At the South Alabama Tournament, Marsh drew three more walks while notching a double and two RBI to defeat Arkansas, 9-5. He tallied a walk and a run scored in a 7-6 win over Maryland, but grabbed his first collegiate save by retiring the last two batters. To close out the trip, Marsh was 2-for-5 with three RBI to knock off South Alabama, 7-5.

For the season, Marsh is hitting .462 with four doubles, two homers, 13 RBI, an .846 slugging percentage and a .576 on-base percentage. Both of his relief appearances last week were the first two as a Knight.

The Knights arrived back home from Mobile early Monday morning, and will look ahead to a quick trip to Daytona Beach to face Bethune-Cookman Wednesday at 6 p.m. They will then host No. 18 Ole Miss in a three-game set Friday at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
