The top girls basketball teams in Central Florida, as selected by the Bright House Sports Network staff:
1. Lake Highland Prep (29-3) – Highlanders rolled through the postseason, winning four of their final five games by 30 or more points en route to a second straight 4A title.
2. Seminole (25-6) – District runner-up ‘Noles got all the way to the 8A state tournament before an 86-75 loss to Boca Raton.
3. Flagler Palm Coast (24-2) – Stunning 53-50 loss to Seminole in region quarterfinals ended hopes of back-to-back state tournament appearances.
4. Winter Park (24-6) – Wildcats, who caught fire late in the regular season, got past Colonial before stumbling against Seminole in the region finals
5. Colonial (23-5) – Grenadiers, who beat Winter Park for the district title, surpassed 20 wins for the fifth consecutive season.
6. Jones (17-10) – UCF signee Kornelia Wright averaged 21.6 points for the Tigers, who provided the toughest challenge to Lake Highland on the path to the 4A championship.
7. Bishop Moore (25-7) – Hornets got to the state tournament for the first time since 2010 and finished as the 5A runner-up to powerhouse Jacksonville Ribault.
8. Edgewater (21-6) – For the fifth time in eight seasons, the Eagles advanced to The Lakeland Center for the state tournament.
9. New Smyrna Beach (25-4) – Barracudas lost in the region semifinals for the second consecutive year.
10. Wekiva (20-8) – Despite an injury riddled season, Mustangs still won a district championship and reached the 20-win mark.
