The top boys basketball teams in Central Florida, as determined by the Bright House Sports Network staff:

1. Windermere Prep (27-5) – Lakers claimed first state title in program history with victory against Fort Lauderdale Westminster Academy in 3A championship game.

2. First Academy (25-6) – Second half struggles doomed Royals in overtime state semifinal loss to Westminster Academy.

3. Poinciana (27-5) – Historic season ended with the Eagles rolling to the 5A state championship, the school’s first ever state title in any sport.

4. Melbourne (28-3) – Bulldogs knocked off top ranked Bartow to reach 7A state semifinals before falling 62-59 to eventual champ Pompano Beach Ely.

5. Master’s Academy (22-4) – After a fantastic regular season, Eagles were upset by Lake Highland Prep 85-84 in district semifinals.

6. Lake Brantley (23-4) – Shocking loss to Oviedo in district semifinals ended the Patriots hopes of reaching the state tournament for the first time ever.

7. Winter Park (21-10) – Unlikely postseason run landed the Wildcats at the state tournament for the fourth time in seven seasons.

8. Leesburg (23-5) – Yellow Jackets beat 5A champ Poinciana in district final but couldn’t get past the Eagles in the region semifinals.

9. Lake Minneola (21-8) – Hawks played their best basketball down the stretch by winning 9 of 10 before region semifinal loss to Melbourne.

10. Holy Trinity (24-8) – Tigers won four games by a total of nine points to reach the 4A final, where the heavy underdog pushed Jacksonville Bolles to the last second in a 46-39 loss.
