The number-14 Apopka Blue Darters move on to the Class 8A Girls Volleyball Regional Semifinals after upsetting No. 12 Boone Braves 3-2 in a Regional Quarterfinal thriller Tuesday night at Boone High School on the Bright House Sports Network Game of the Week.
The Blue Darters, who have four college commits on their team, found themselves down 2 games to 1 but rallied in a wild 4th game to force a 5th game which Apopka dominated 15-7.
Apopka won 29-27, 23-25, 19-25, 29-27, 15-7.
Apopka Senior outside hitter Nicole Dominguez led the Darters with 19 kills and 15 digs. Alexis Gosha added 12 kills, 4 aces and 8 digs.
Boone was led by Sophomore outside hitter Erin Carter who had 20 kills.
Boone's season ends with a record of 19-9.
