West Orange’s defense held the reigning 8A state champion to just three points in an impressive 28-3 win on Bright House Sports Network’s Game of the Week.

The Warriors(5-1, 1-0 in 8A,District 4) dominated the game from start to finish, limiting penalties and slowing down the Blue Darters (5-1, 0-1) offense.

Auburn commit Woody Barrett got right to work first hitting Naquan Renalds for a 34-yard score in the second quarter, then rushed for two other touchdowns to finish with 163 yards on the ground.

Apopka scored on their first drive of the game when Logan Minniear hit a 24-yard field goal, his first of the year.

Apopka was limited to 227 total yards of offense and held to 47 in the second half. It’s the first time Apopka has been held without a touchdown since 2011.
