It was a big week for UNC signee Destinee Walker as she guided her team past district rivals Atlantic and Jones then went off in the Showdown in O-town contest against Lake Howell scoring a career high 50 points.
“To have my career high of 50 points, it was great and felt great,” Walker said.
“[It was after] actually beating jones by a good amount of points—that going into Lake Howell we were more free. We were more open to do what we were supposed to do that night.”
The Highlanders are currently 18-2 with Walker leading the team in scoring averaging about 24.5 points per game
“She’s our leader, she’s our senior leadership,” coach Al Honor said. “She’s been here for a while; she’s been all over the country playing basketball so we expect those things out of her.”
