How they match up: One of Central Florida’s most consistent teams takes on one of the area’s most promising programs in an early season district showdown on Bright House Sports Network. Olympia swept Ocoee in three sets last week to open play in 8A-3. The Titans expect libero Sadie Estrada, setter Camila Rivas and middle blocker Martina Shamley to lead the way on the court. Rivas, a St. Louis commit, will play a vital role in Olympia’s offense after returning from a season-ending knee injury. Apopka has several players back from a season ago in hopes this year’s team can get pass the first round of regionals. The Blue Darters’ attack is led by right side Carli Anderson and outside hitter Nicole Dominguez, who is rebounding from a torn ACL. Apopka will try to pull even in the district after dropping its first district match to West Orange 3-0, while Olympia looks to remain perfect in district.

Three stats to know:

1. Apopka owned a 2-1 series advantage over Olympia last year.

2. Olympia has made it to the 8A region finals three of the last four years.

3. Blue Darters and Titans have never met in the region tournament.
