The Heritage Panthers delivered Mark Ainsley his first win as head coach.

Despite being marred by penalties and turnovers, the 13th ranked Panthers handed Rockledge a 27-10 loss Friday night a McLarty Stadium.

Heritage racked up 16 penalties for 159 yards and turned over the ball four times. However, the Panthers outgained the Raiders in total offense, 329 yards to just 53.

Rockledge was ahead 10-7 in the third quarter before Josh Gaines took over.

The Panthers junior tailback rushed for 183 yards on 17 carries. His 75-yd run set up his touchdown pass to Daeshawn Mills to go up 14-10, as the visitors scored 20 unanswered points.

Gaines also finished with 55 yards in the air with two TDs and two interceptions.

Heritage moves to 1-1, while Rockledge drops to 0-2.
