For the second consecutive weekend, the Central Florida High School Hockey League took over the RDV Sportsplex Ice Den and an 8th grade goalie from St. Augustine nearly stole the show.

Volusia County jumped out to an early lead on Orange County, 4-2 after Cameron Clark scored a pair of goals on breakaways, but the second ranked team in the CFHSHL Orange County scored 3 goals in the third period to win their final game of the regular season. Olivia Petito was called up from the JV squad two weeks ago after the Volusia County’s starting goalie broke his collarbone and stopped 36 shots in a valiant effort. Dillion Scammon scored the game-winning goal with under two minutes to play in the game. Nolan Dickerson was named the FBC Mortgage Player of the Game netting two goals and adding an assist on Scammon’s goal.

In the second game of the doubleheader, top ranked Lake Mary cruised to an 11-1 victory over rival Seminole South. The Rams jumped out to a 7-0 lead before South Seminole was able to get on the board. Matt Davis led all scorers with 3 goals, while Mason Ledbetter was named the FBC Mortgage Player of the Game adding two goals and an assist to his league leading totals.
