Sophomore catcher Luis Olivier hit his first career home run Monday night as Lake Brantley defeated rival Lake Mary 10-5 in the 8A, District 2 quarterfinals at Sanford Memorial Stadium.

The Patriots, last year's 8A champion, advance to Wednesday's semifinal and will meet top seed Hagerty. The teams split their two regular season meetings.

Lake Brantley (19-7) scored in each of the first four innings for a 7-2 advantage.

Olivier was 2-for-4 while Miami signee Carl Chester had a pair of doubles and an RBI.

After a two out single in the bottom of the second inning, Olivier sent a fly ball over the wall in left center field to give the Patriots a lead they would never relinquish.

With Lake Brantley leading 7-2 in the fifth, Lake Mary threatened by loading the bases with no one out. Patriots starter Bryce Tucker retired the next three hitters to end the threat.

Lake Mary's Jake Corso had three hits and was a triple shy of the cycle. He hit a line drive home run off Tucker in the third inning.
