Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop practiced Thursday in full gear for the first time since his left elbow injury on April 9, but that doesn't mean he's ready to return to the ice.

Bishop participated in a 35-minute workout in pads before the Lightning's team practice, skating around the rink and working with goalie coach Frantz Jean.

He did not speak with the media.

Bishop hasn't played in four games, including the Lightning's Game 1 overtime loss to Montreal on Wednesday night. Anders Lindback has started in place of Bishop, and stopped 39 of 44 shots in Game 1.

Head coach Jon Cooper spoke on Bishop's status after team practice, saying his starting goalie isn't quite ready to return.

"I don't think we're going to see Bishop anytime soon," Cooper said. "I don't know what soon is. This series would have to extend a little bit for him to come in."

Cooper also noted left wing Ondrej Palat is a game-time decision for Friday with an upper body injury.

"I guess we'll call him day-to-day," Cooper said, "but the again, aren't we all."
