The Lake Minneola Hawks emerged victorious 71-66 against Liberty Christian Prep on Thursday on the strength of junior Marcus Dodson, who scored 26 points. A late steal and layup by senior Avery Brown sealed their victory in the fourth quarter.

The Hawks were able to hold off the Lions despite 27 points and 14 rebounds from UCF signee, Tacko Fall. Fall went 13-for-14 from the field, dominating the paint against the smaller Hawks.

Lake Minneola took a 44-31 lead at halftime on the heels of a 14-3 run.

Making 70% (7-for-10) of shots taken, Dodson had a great shooting game from the field, as well as outside the arc, making 75% (6-for-8) of threes attempted. 

Two other players also added ten or more points for Lake Minneola as twin brothers Avery Brown racked up 19 points and Anthony Brown chipped in 12 points. 

Lake Minneola improves to 11-1 on the season while Liberty Christian Prep falls to 8-6 on the season.
