Apopka advanced to the 8A Regional Finals after a lopsided win over West Orange, 42-0.
The Blue Darters defense played its best game of the season, shutting out the Warriors for the first time this season. Apopka forced three turnovers, including an interception by Laquan Hicks.
The Blue Darters controlled the game on the ground, chewing up 412 yards. Sophomore Demetri Burch led all rushers with 177 yards and two touchdowns. Chandler Cox also tacked on two scores, while he rushed for 144 yards on 18 carries.
Apopka moved to 5-1 in rematch games when losing to a team in that same season under head coach Rick Darlington.
The Blue Darters improve to 8-4 and travel to Jacksonville First Coast for the region final.
West Orange ends the season with an 11-1 record, their best finish in school history.
