Bill Castle has seen his fare share of football.

The legendary Lakeland head coach has been manning the sidelines for Polk County's premier program for 38 years. He has coached, played against and game planned for some of the most talented players to ever come out of Florida.

And that's what makes his comments about Lake Nona quarterback Tucker Israel so interesting.

Israel, the state's all-time career leader in passing yards, completions and touchdowns, lit up Lakeland's stout defense for 543 yards passing, five touchdowns and 38 points, nearly knocking off the No. 3 team in the state before the Dreadnaughts rallied for the win.

"I've been coaching a long time, but that's probably the best passing attack we've faced since I've been coaching," Castle said on this week's edition of BHSN's "Recruiting Central".

A Clemson verbal commit, Israel finished the season with 4,446 yards and 58 touchdowns, breaking six state records during his career at Lake Nona.

"He like gets it," Castle said. "He knows where to put the ball and he knows how to read coverages. He gets the ball out of his hand quick. He's going to be a great college quarterback."
